School curriculum modernised for the Isle of Man's 12,000 pupils

It’s the first major revision of how pupils learn since 2006

A new curriculum has been launched geared toward modernising the existing learning opportunities for the Island’s 12,000 pupils.

It’s the first major revision of how pupils learn since 2006; Essentials for Learning was created following extensive consultation with teachers.

The process of re-writing the curriculum began a year ago.

School Improvement Adviser, Geoff Moorcroft has said the new curriculum will provide the most up-to date materials to teachers, who will be able to create inspiring, memorable learning opportunities for pupils.

It’s being steadily rolled across the Island’s Schools now, but students won’t notice a difference until September.
