    Services held Island-wide for Remembrance Sunday

    Services are being held across the Island today to mark Remembrance Sunday. 

    8,261 Manxmen enlisted in the armed forces, which was 82.3 per cent of the male population of military age.
     
    1,165 gave their lives and 987 were wounded.
     
    It includes a parade in Douglas - which sets off from Market Hill at 9:30am, followed by a service at St Thomas' Church at 10am. 
     
    Men and women who have sacrificed themselves for their country in the armed forces are also being commemorated.
