A man from Douglas has applied for planning permission to build an astronomy facility in his back garden.
David Storey of Hailwood Avenue has applied for planning permission to build a small observatory for private use.
In his application, he says the small domed structure would be just under ten feet high.
The dome housing the telescope would be mounted on a concrete base and be just under 8 feet in diameter.
