Street parties and events encouraged for Diamond Jubilee

An extra holiday was added to the calendar on Friday, July 6th, the day after Tynwald Day, to give local residents an opportunity to take part in community events.

The Island will also be hosting a visit from the Prince of Wales as part of a Royal Family tour of Commonwealth countries, a date for the trip is yet to be established.

Any individuals or organisations wishing to stage an event are asked to notify the Secretary to the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Working Group, Ann Craine, on ann.craine@cso.gov.im or by calling 685211.
