    Teenager injured after 'tombstoning'

    Picture from Peel Lifeboat

A teenager had to be rescued yesterday after dislocating his shoulder 'tombstoning'.

Peel Lifeboat was launched at 4.30pm to help the boy who had jumped into the water from rocks behind Peel Castle.

He was unable to clamber ashore - two crewmen launched the inflatable dinghy and rowed from the lifeboat to the rocks.

He was then taken to safety by the rescue vessel to Fenella Beach.

Last month the Coastguard issued a warning about the dangers of tombstoning around the Island's harbour areas.
