Those looking after lambs must register with DEFA

If you're looking after a meg lamb, the government says you need to register - or give the animal back.

The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says anyone keeping livestock has to register with it before accepting an animal.

Meg lambs have to be tagged and can only move between registered holdings.

DEFA says lambs being reared on non-registered premises must be returned as soon as possible.
