Tumble drier fault starts house fire

The Fire Safety team are reiterating a familiar message to householders following another call out to a tumble drier fire.

The call came yesterday afternoon to a property in Heather Crescent Pulrose.

The sole occupant had escaped in time, and fire damage was isolated to the tumble drier and some nearby electrical wiring.

You're asked to remember to ensure the lint trap is always clear and the drum never overloaded.

You're also reminded to do regular checks on your smoke alarm, testing them once a week and changing the battery every year.
