Tynwald is welcoming its first ombudsman.
Malachy Cornwell-Kelly has been appointed as the Island's first Tynwald Commissioner for Administration.
The role involves mediating between the government and the public, in the event someone wanted to make a complaint.
Mr Kelly is no stranger to the Island's parliamentary system and laws, after spending seven years as the Clerk of Tynwald and Secretary of the House of Keys in 2001 to 2008.
