Uni students urged to protect against meningitis

Public Health Isle of Man wants students heading to university this year to make sure they're protected against meningitis and septicaemia.

The health body says new students heading out to do their degrees can be most at risk of either of them in the first few weeks of term.

As a result, it's advising to book an appointment with a GP to make sure you're protected and also double-check if you've had the 3-in1 booster jabs and MMR vaccines.

Officials took to social media to issue advice and information on the matter.
