No dangerous marine species were found in Douglas Harbour, after a team of divers examined a floating pontoon.
A team, including members from the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture and the Manx Wildlife Trust, inspected the pontoon for any species that could pose a threat to biodiversity and spread disease.
Member of the department Dr Michelle Haywood MHK took part in the dive, and says the underneath of the pontoon is encrusted with sponges and mussels, and has no invasive species of concern.
Diving is not generally allowed in Douglas Harbour but an exception was made for the important work.
