Firefighters were called out yesterday after embers from a wood burner sparked a blaze in Ramsey.
The incident happened shortly before 2.30pm in Fairfield Avenue when householders reported smelling smoke.
Crews from Ramsey, Laxey and Douglas responded, and used thermal imaging cameras to pinpoint the cause in the stove's flue.
The Fire and Rescue Service spent 45 minutes putting out the fire and making sure the property was safe - it suffered only minor smoke damage.
