Work gets under way on Castletown Bypass

The work will be subject to weather conditions but it\'s hoped it will be completed within 2 weeks.

Work will commence today on the carriageway re-surfacing of a section of the A5 Douglas to Port Erin Road known as the Castletown Bypass.

The section of road to be improved is between the junctions with Arbory Road and Malew Road.

The road will remain open to traffic as the works will be carried out by closing one lane at a time with traffic controlled by temporary traffic lights; these will be in operation between 9.15am and 4.30pm.

If drivers wish to avoid the work then an alternative route is via A5 Douglas Rd, A7 Bridge Rd and Ballabeg.

The work will be subject to weather conditions but its hoped it will be completed within 2 weeks.
