An initiative from an Island business is recognising the important work of young carers on Manx shores this Christmas.
Quilter International has handed out nearly 120 goodie bags to local young carers which have been presented at festive events held by charity Crossroads.
All of the items were selected so that they were appropriate for carers in three age groups - five to seven-year olds; eight to 11; and 12 to 17.
Quilter's Communications & Community Investment Manager, Wendy Ranft-Gerber, says: "2020 has been a difficult year for everyone, and for young carers it has added to the challenges they face every day. We already have an association with Crossroads due to a three-year project which began in 2019.
"Young carers are real-life superheroes, so the Christmas gifts are our way of saying a little ‘thank you’ for all of the great things they do."
Meanwhile, Hannah Murphy, Operational Manager at Crossroads adds: "We are extremely grateful to Quilter International for thinking of our young carers this Christmas. It has been an incredibly hard year for many of our young carers and the goodie bags are a lovely way to show them how appreciated they are."
